REF: CAR 35 – HOG CHARGE TEAM and the RHINO CHARGE 2018
Last year, the Hog Charge Team came 3rd. Overall and won the Unmodified Vehicle Class in the Rhino Charge – our best result to date on a very tough event.
The Rhino Charge is an annual event for sixty five 4WD vehicles who have to visit 13 controls in 10 hours in the shortest possible distance. This means going through gorges, rivers, thick bush, over rocks, winching up and down steep inclines, etc.
The Rhino Ark Charitable Trust’s main aim is to raise money to enable it to fence the Water Towers of Kenya.
These electric fence projects protect the Forests, their respective water towers, the wildlife, and of course the neighbouring farms.
They also go a long way to promote:
“Humans living in harmony with Wildlife”
After the completion of the 440 kms fence around the Aberdare National Park in 2012, the Rhino Ark Charitable Trust has now completed the 48 kms. fence around the Eburu Forest Reserve onthe Mau, above Lake Naivashia. Rhino Ark has also completed over 150kms of the 400 kms fencing of the Mount Kenya National Park.
