Story

Monkey World has a very special place in our hearts as Hannah's Mum and late Dad visited the park in Dorset when it first opened in 1987 and we continue to support the sanctuary ourselves.

Our hero's, Jim and Alison Cronin opened MW to rescue and rehabilitate primates from all over the world. Most have had their Mother’s killed so they can be stolen from the wild and illegally sold into a variety of fates across the globe including: being tested on in laboratories in solitary confinement for decades, used as props in circuses or on beaches, and/or kept as pets in small cages. Some individuals reach MW having been physically and mentally abused, addicted to drugs, or even on the verge of death at the hands of humans.

MW endeavour to create a natural environment and provide companionship and care for all. They also play an integral part in a global breeding programme for endangered species such as Orangutans, Gibbons and Woolly monkeys. In total, they care for over 220 animals from more than 20 different species and they rely almost totally on support and donations from the public.

We will be visiting their Vietnamese site as part of our honeymoon to see orphaned Gibbons released back into the wild (where they belong!) so we will be able to see first hand the good that your donations will do.

Please dig deep, and donate as much as you can, so that they can continue to help primates all over the world who need saving.

This is the biggest gift that we can ask from you, it means the world to us, and we don't need another toaster!

Thank you
