The Heart of Kent Hospice helped my family through one of the hardest times in ourlives. Losing a man who was inspirational to us all and will always hold a veryspecial place in our hearts.
Grandad was diagnosed with cancer and within 3 weeks we had lost him. When we walked into the Heart of Kent Hospice, and we were only there for the one night, one of the nurses joked and said “welcome to the best free hotel you will ever stay in”. She was right. The staff at the hospice couldn't do enough for not only Grandad, but us to.From making sure we were all comfortable and had somewhere to try and sleep, to bringing in breakfast in the morning. Making sure that everyone was as good as they could be in the worst possible circumstances.
I will never be able to raise enough money to thank them enough for the support they gave us all, but I am hoping that I can help a little so that they can carry on helping others.
No one will ever replace my Grandad. He was so much more than just a Grandad. He was a dad, a friend, an advisor, a taxi(!!)…He was the best and will forever be missed and never forgotten.
If you would like to follow my progress throughout the year, you can follow my blog https://hollyanne06.wordpress.com I will update this throughout the year to keep you updated with events completed and new ones signed up to.
