So why boxing? I must be bloody mental.
I’m not going to lie I’m shitting myself but I’ve never felt more determined.
This has always been a dream for me to do. Yeah I probably should have just done a class at the gym and kept it simple and focused on losing a few pounds but that’s not what it’s all about.
Working in events and loving wine I have struggled to find the confidence and time to commit to do it before. Plus my Dad told me strictly never to do it. (He still doesn’t know).
Doing this charity fight has several meanings to me but most importantly to support my friends at Skiddle in raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support in honour of our gorgeous friend and colleague Chris Glaba who sadly lost his battle with cancer in December 2016.
Chris was the life and sole for so many of us. This time of year feels particularly hard as we are getting closer to Highest Point Festival. A job that myself, Chris, Rich and Jamie had planned together. Life can be so cruel.
He is in my thoughts so often and I doubt I’ll do him proud when some meathead knocks me down but I’m gonna give it my best shot.
Working closely with Macmillan I really admire how hard they work and am proud to try and help if I can.
I’ve done so much for charity over the years through events that I have run but this is by far the biggest and most stupid thing I’ve done.
Dig deep kids. I need your support and so does MacMillan.
Thank you to my amazing sponsors..
Skiddle (Rich & Ben), Manchester Union Lager (Jamie- is that ok?), Highest Point Festival (Chris)
Much Love
