Students from Skills for Independence and Work are running a project in collaboration with The Winchester Beacon night shelter this winter to help support people experiencing homelessness.
Students will be coming around the college on Tuesday the 23rd of January to collect donations on cash or card.
The night shelter help the homeless by
Providing temporary accommodation
Practical careers advice
Developing life skills
Alongside collecting donations the students are also creating and delivering 'Wellbeing packs' to the shelter including an item aimed at each of the NHS' 5 Ways to Wellbeing.
The Winchester Beacon (formerly known as Winchester Churches Nightshelter) has been helping people experiencing homelessness in Hampshire for over 30 years. As well as being a safe place to stay, the charity provides personalised one-to-one support to residents to help them rebuild their lives and escape homelessness for good.
