Story

I'm helping to raise money for WasteAid UK with the stickiest raffle in town! Tickets cost £1, and you could win a whole bucket (around 15lb) of delicious honey made by beautiful West Country bees. The draw will be on the 22nd July.

Waste Aid works to help countries that don't have proper waste management systems, by getting waste plastics out of the environment, protecting sea life, and helping communities to create businesses by using the waste to make products.

Until the end of July, the UK government will match anything that's donated. WasteAid plans to build a training centre next to the Cameroon estuary to stop plastic polluting the home of sea turtles and manatees. It is aiming to train 300 people to recycle plastic waste into useful products, like paving tiles and roof tiles.

WasteAid is a tiny charity that has achieved a huge amount in a ridiculously short time. With extra government funding, they can do even more, so they need all the help they can get over the next month. Join in and Get Sticky! Share far and wide!

Did you know… honey bees have been producing honey in the same way for 150 million years, and they fly around 90,000 miles – three times around the globe – to make one pound of honey.

I'll enter a raffle ticket for each £1 donation made, and draw the raffle on the 22nd July, so make sure you leave your full name if you donate through JustGiving. The winner will be announced on the Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/events/2231374946917697/), and on the WasteAid UK website (https://wasteaid.org/)
Thank you!

1 in 3 people globally do not have a waste management service and have no option but to burn or dump their waste, much of it ending up in the oceans. We share waste management and recycling skills that help people to help themselves from poverty, improve public health, and protect the environment
