Horner's (39 miles) Hike · 7 November 2009

We’ve been providing in-depth, expert information and wide-ranging support for over 35 years, helping thousands of people affected by lymphoma. Our work drives improvements in the diagnosis, treatment, and aftercare of lymphoma.

Story

Several years ago, during a train strike and one or two pints after work, Iain Horner made the decision to walk home......down the A4 to !!

Arriving home the following afternoon, feet in tatters and trophy blisters, Iain had walked a total of 39 miles.  Incredibly, a year later he repeated the walk, raising money for The British Heart Foundation.

At the beginning of 2009, Iain was diagnosed with a form of Lymphoma and sadly, on the 3rd September 2009 Iain passed away.

In memory of Iain and his infamous commute, a group of family and friends will try to replicate the walk, starting in Soho and walking along the A4 to .

We are aiming to leave at dawn on Saturday 7th November 2009 and hope to arrive at the Prince of Wales pub in Caversham, Reading around 9pm that evening.

We are raising money for The Lymphoma Association who support those directly affected by this type of cancer and would welcome your contribution to the charity which now lies close to our hearts.

Thank you.
