Two teams from Houghton International are taking part in the Row the Tyne endurance rowing challenge to raise money for Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Charity (incorporating The Sir Bobby Robson Foundation and Great North Children's Hospital Foundation).

Row the Tyne is a team challenge to row a whopping 118,000m - the distance from the source to the mouth of the River Tyne!

Our rowers will be in teams of 6 people and each team will have 10 hours to complete the challenge, alternating as needed at an average pace of 2.30 / 500m to achieve their goal.

The event takes place on Saturday the 10th of February at Newcastle Royal Grammar School.

We all know people who have been affected by cancer and other illnesses that mean they have had to access the fantastic services of the Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals.

Please give generously to ensure others can receive exceptional medical care and support and to help continue to fund the innovative research that goes on here to get us closer to finding cures.
