We exist to defend the right to a safe home and fight the devastating impact the housing emergency has on people and society. We believe that home is everything.

Vertical Rush Challenge 2015

On March 3rd 18 members of the BDO Corporate M & A tax team will be scaling the 930 steps of Tower 42 in the city of London in order to reach the champagne bar at the top...

The real reason is much more sobering.  The number of homeless in England and Wales has seen a 26% increase over the last 4 years and the number of people sleeping rough in London has increased to over 6,500 in 2013/14 a 75% increase on 2010.

Shelter in my experience is unique as it empowers individuals by providing them with practical and legal advice as well as lobbying political parties.  Through volunteering in prisons and homeless shelters and mentoring young offenders in the past few years I have seen countless examples of how the security of a home changes lives for the better.

So instead of giving a few pounds to a homeless man begging, where in London there is an 80% likelihood of them doing so to fuel a drug habit, help us meet and supersede our target and make an actual difference!
