This Coast to Coast charity cycle ride across Scotland has been running for many years. Several BP colleagues have been encouraging me to join this event for the last 13 years. Thought I'd better do it before the knees give up! We'll be riding about 125km each day, for 3 days (350km/220mile) and I'll be pedalling hard to keep up with the "experts". As some of you know, I've been undertaking ever-longer training rides with mates in the London area to build up my stamina. My last charity ride like this was over 15 years ago, and a mere 240km - so this will be my biggest cycling challenge yet.
The C2C ride is raising money for 4 charities this year: AberNecessities, Maggies (cancer care), Camphill School, and Aberdeenshire North Foodbank. I've been tagged to AberNecessities which is a great cause. So please support with whatever amount you can spare - it's really appreciated. Many thanks.
AberNecessities is a local charity supporting underprivileged families in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire. They provide families with essential items to care for their babies and children to help alleviate some of the pressure of bringing up a young family with limited resources. They are dedicated to ensuring basic needs are met and provide items such as formula milk, nappies, toiletries, clothes and cots. Every penny of your donation goes towards buying items which are then given directly to families.
