We are hoping to raise enough money to buy some good quality scales to weigh our animals. Monitoring the weight of the animals is an essential element of carrying out health checks.

Some of our animals are tiny and only weigh a few grams. Precision instruments help us to do this accurately. At the other end of the scale (forgive the pun) our big cats can weigh more than 200 Kg. Their scales must be very robust! And in between we have wallabies, lemurs, goats etc that simply don't fit on your normal bathroom scales. 

We need to upgrade our existing equipment so we decided that we would try to raise some funds by doing a sponsored slim. Hopefully we will not only help to buy some scales but we might also shift some of our excess Christmas weight!

Based at the Isle of Wight Zoo, The Wildheart Trust is committed to providing a life-long, loving home to big cats who have been rescued from desperate circumstances. The team work holistically to ensure each individual has an enriched and meaningful life.Our cats and the wider animal residents also provide an opportunity for people of all ages to learn about, and take action for the wider environment, and the animals in our care.
