Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
We are 6 volunteers from IRESS who are going to attempt to complete the 3 Peaks Challenge in 24 hours in aid of Cobalt. The 3 Peaks Challenge involves climbing the highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales (Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon) all within 24 hours. The aim is to start climbing Ben Nevis at 7am on Saturday 7th July, then travelling down to Scafell Pike once Ben Nevis is completed, then onwards travel to Snowdon with the aim to be at the bottom of Snowdon by 7am on Sunday 8th July. This timing means climbing Snowdon by moonlight! Two other IRESS volunteers are acting as drivers for the challenge (Lee and Ian) and we have organised a Guide to be with us throughout the entire duration on all 3 peaks for health and safety reasons.
The 3 peaks is a tough challenge in itself but with the added target of completing within 24 hours including travel time we have stepped it up a level however we are already well motivated and focused and have been completing practices walks and climbs as a team in preparation. The extra incentive to complete within 24 hours is the fund raising in support of Cobalt.
Any support through donations would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you, IRESS Peaky Climbers
Hope supports young people when a loved one is seriously ill. They're there from the point of diagnosis for however long they're needed, whatever the outcome for the patient. The charity is entirely self-funded and relies on fundraising, donations and grants so that they can carry on supporting young people who are going through such a traumatic time. Any support you can offer really will be appreciated!
