The Three Peaks Challenge · 25 June 2011

ShelterBox work to ensure that vulnerable families around the world have life-saving emergency shelter, and other essential tools and aid items, after disaster strikes. Be it an earthquake, flood, conflict or hurricane, we are there for those most in need.

Story

Mission Accomplished!

Thank you all very much for helping with our cause and donating to our charity. I can successfully say that we made it up all three-peaks carrying an empty symbolic shelter box between the team members. Of the three, it is difficult to say which was the most challenging: Ben Nevis was the longest, Scafell was probably one of the rockiest, and Snowdon, while short, was damn steep at points! I will saw, the views from all three were incredible and definitely worth the effort to the top. We also managed to raise a lot of awareness for the shelter box program with the other hikers out doing the three-peaks challenge for other charity organizations. So, all told, it was a great time, a really unique experience, and a big success with helping the shelter box program. Once again, thank you all so much for your support and I hope to personally thank each of you!

Sincerely,

Iain Cruickshank

Thank you very much for visitng my page. My fellow Rotary Scholars and myself are planning to complete the Three Peaks Challenge to raise money and awareness fro the Rotary ShelterBox program.

Event: The Three Peaks Challenge on the 25th of June

Charity: ShelterBox

Fundraisers: As many Ambassadorial Scholars as possible

Idea: In order to raise funds and awareness for Shelter Box, we want to climb the three highest mountains in England, Scotland and Wales within 24 hours.

To make the challenge even more tough, we will be carrying original Shelter Boxes. They will stand for the number of Boxes that have been sent to disaster areas to provide refief for those who lost their homes.

It costs £590 to deliver one valuable box to people who are mostly in need. On our way up and down the three peaks we will try hard to overcome difficult terrain and to finally deliver the boxes across the finish line. We want to demonstrate the immense effort that is made to bring relief to victims of natural hazards such as in Japan.

Our job: To train hard and to carry the boxes

Your job: To increase the cargo for ShelterBox
