Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our UK JustGiving page.

Andrew Donaldson and Jon Brown are raising money for the British Heart foundation in memory of Ian.  Ian was Andy's brother and Jon's brother-in-law (Nicky's brother).

Ian suffered a heart attack in August 2018 and died. Ian was a very generous man, with his money, his time, and his laughter. Ian was also a enthusiastic cyclist, so an extended cycle ride seemed to be a fitting tribute.  It is our way of saying he is greatly missed.

We will be cycling from John O'Groats on the northern tip of Scotland to the border with England. The journey takes us through the Highlands, Inverness, along Loch Ness and down the Caledonian Canal to Fort William. We then head down the Mull of Kintyre before crossing to the Isle of Arran and finally passing through Ayr and the Scottish borders of Dumfries and Galloway before crossing the English border at Gretna.

It is a journey of around 550 miles that we will tackle over 9 days.  I will be posting my progress via my facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/andrew.donaldson.5602).
