Every week a family in the UK hears the devastating words ‘your child has a rare cancer’. For families facing a diagnosis of retinoblastoma, life changes in an instant. At CHECT, we offer lifelong emotional support, practical advice, and grants to support anyone affected by retinoblastoma.

Story

Thanks for clicking onto my JustGiving page.

It's nearly 8 years since my son Tom was diagnosed with Retinoblastoma - a rare form of eye cancer. Neither Jo nor I knew that eye cancer even existed - let alone that a 1yr old boy could get it. In the weeks and months following Tom's diagnosis the team at CHECT were an invaluable source of information and support as we struggled to deal with the most traumatic time of our lives. So, I am trying to raise some money to help CHECT continue its amazing work helping families like ours deal with the devastating impact of having a child with cancer.

I am cycling with Vision Express, who have organised the Ride for Sight event. They have been amazing supporters of CHECT and I'm looking forward to supporting their fundraising efforts as a way of saying thank you for everything they've done for the charity.
