Dear All my family & friends,

Having participated in the Swimathon in the past & enjoyed it, along with other members of the family, we have entered a smaller team again this year.

Not being a 'natural swimmer' this is a proper challenge for me & having another crack at the 5km distance makes it all the more so. Training has been time limited so a little haphazard but with just short of a month to go I should be there or there abouts hopefully by the time of the event !

I have experienced the invaluable work provided by both charities in a professional & personal capacity so realise their importance in supporting individual patients as well as family members with medical, practical & emotional care. I therefore thought it time to get on & have a go at raising some funds for them.

So, if you can, please support me in raising some money & pledging whatever you can for these great charities.

Cancer Research UK and Marie Curie are teaming up and heading down to the pool for Swimathon 2018 – thousands of swimmers, two great causes, one big charity challenge.

Cancer Research UK, the world’s leading cancer charity dedicated to saving lives through research, will be involved in Swimathon for the first time. 

Marie Curie, the UK’s leading charity for people with any terminal illness and their families, has been Swimathon's charity partner ten times since it launched in 1986 and has raised over £17 million for the charity through the event during that time. 

By taking part in the world’s biggest fundraising swimming event you will be fundraising for two incredible causes.
