Birmingham Half Marathon 2010 · 24 October 2010 ·
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have decided to run the Birmingham Half Marathon on the 24 October, you may ask why? Am I MAD?
No, initially it was a target I set myself as I am unfit and overweight, caused by giving up smoking, and drinking to much. This was not enough to dedicate myself to a twelve week training regeme.
It was when my Dad came to visit early this July, he had been diagnosed with colon cancer in early 2007, a year and a half after his operation it was discovered he had secondaries in both lungs and within the last few weeks secondaries were found in his brain. Also, I also lost my mother-in-law through bone cancer two years ago and a cousins wife, in her mid forties, is being treated for breast cancer. This made me think, lets get sponsership for my run and make my small effort help others.
