My wife Julie fought a brave battle against cancer for more than 2 years. Her final few weeks were very hard for her and my family trying to look after her. It was getting harder as the disease progressed and when she went into the hospice it was like having a large weight liftied off our shoulders. The love and professionalism given by the hospice staff meant that we could spend quality time with her. I want to give something back and to try to get back to a better level of fitness. The 30 mile course will be quite difficult but I will try next year for the 60 or 100miles if I can get up to the standard required for that.
