Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Having completed The Worcester 10k in
1hr 3mins and 18 seconds I have made a long term commitment to raise money for the Charity and have now set targets of Half Marathon, Full Marathon and Ultra Marathon
Last July my life changed forever, admitted to Worcester royal hospital with a blood oxygen of 40 having contracted Covid pneumonia I was literally dying…..
Doctors had no option but to intubate me into a medically induced coma, the following 12 days were some very uncertain times, given no chance of survival my family and friends prepared for the worst….
On day 12 the intensive care nurse caring for me started to bring me out of coma and woke me up, explaining to me what had happened, calling my sister to let her know I was awake…..
The next 12 days can only be described as a miraculous recovery, hospital staff were amazed by my quick turn around I was gaining enough strength to be able to support myself at home, to carry on my rehabilitation and finally returning to work after 3 months from that dreadful day in July!!
I’m here today to tell my story and to embrace the work that Worcester Royal Hospital do around the clock, quite simply I owe my life to those that have put their own lives on the line during the Covid pandemic.
