IDRIS RUNS MADRID MARATHON FOR THE CYSTIC FIBROSIS TRUST!!!
Dear All,
On the 23rd April, I will be dragging my creaking, ageing body round 26.2 uphill miles in the unfriendly Madrid heat for the incredibly worthwhile cause - The Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
As you may know, my little brother Declan suffers from this disease, and it makes his life a daily pain in the arse. I would love to help contribute with as much as I can. For those of you skipped Year 8 Biology, CF is a genetically inherited disease that affects over 100,000 people yearly. It is a disease that primarily affects lung function and although great strides are continually being made, it ends the life of its sufferers far too early.

Unlike other worthy causes like Cancer, Aids etc, CF is not simply researching for ways to improve chances of recovery...they've found it. They are confident that through gene therapy they can stop lung function from detoriating in both adult and newborn CF patients. The problem is the $$$. To put it in perspective, a night of comic relief style spending, could potenitally end this disease. Forever.
Therefore, I want to play my part. If you could help me inch my way towards my target (and beyond!) with whatever spare change you can muster I would be immensely grateful.
All the best, and apologies in advance for ramming this down your newsfeed on a weekly basis.
Idris
