I'm lucky enough to be given the opportunity to travel to Gambia on 22nd March 2022 with Smile With Gambia (SWG), for a massive and much-needed cause!

I will be helping to build an orphanage for the orphans and less-fortunate children of Gambia. It's something very close to my heart, having recently seen people I know become orphans themselves. I will be involved in other things there too, listed further below.

I am also pledging to run a combined 50km before I go! (I might regret this 😅). I'll post updates after each run further below. 🏃

I am 100% excited and 200% focused! Please help me to 300% smash my target! 😁

Any amount big or small will help make a huge difference to the children of Gambia,
and encourage me to work harder... and run faster!  😁

Activities on the ground:

1. Construction work
I will be getting hands-on with the building work required to build the orphanage.
The site will accommodate a School, Orphanage, place of worship, Playground area and Agriculture area.

2. Working on other local projects
I will have the opportunity to visit other local projects on the go. This will include help with renovation of a place of worship; fixing the ceiling, plastering the walls and bringing it all together with a touch of paint.
I will also be packaging food packs and handing them out to the community.

3. Visiting completed SWG projects
Alongside education-based projects, SWG run several other developments to support the local community, which include and are not limited to: clean water schemes, feeding the poor, building places of worship.
I will have a chance to visit other completed projects like this and engage with the local community.
