Having seen the devastating affect cancer has on family, friends and patients, I have always wanted to do something to support the ongoing research that continues to treat and cure the different types of cancer. Even within my 10 years as a doctor, I have seen the wonderful work done by Cancer Research UK, making a difference to people's lives. 

Sadly, too often, fighting cancer is an unfair fight, but with more research that can change.

Countless times, I have delivered devastating news of cancer to my patients and their relatives. However, I see how those patients and their family/friends/colleagues pull together and fight head on. They push through symptoms like anxiety, fear, pain and give it everything to try and beat cancer.

Inspired by my patients, family and friends who have been affected by cancer, I felt this challenge of 100km in 2 days was a fitting tribute to the strength they were required to have and continue to show. 

It's going to be hard, It's going to hurt and it's going to require  me to dig very very deep to complete it, so I would be immensely grateful and proud, if you did support my effort by donating as much as you can...even if it's a little!
