Story
Alastair, aka JJ, is a very close friend of mine who has been bravely, battling illness for the past two years. I am climbing Snowdon with a group of friends, at night (!) on 15th October this year in his name and to raise money for NET Patient Foundation - an important charity raising awareness of an often mis-diagnosed cancer.
JJ is incredibly smart, with razor sharp wit, a fitness fanatic, 36 years old and he was diagnosed with terminal stage four neuroendochrine carcinoid cancer in 2015. His brother and sister have also been diagnosed with the same cancer - in their cases, following multiple surgical procedures containing it early enough, they are both thankfully in remission. Sadly, JJ's prognosis was given after his had spread extensively through his body is incurable through any conventional medicine due to this advancement.
Steve Jobs had neuroendochrine cancer sited in his pancreas. Almost everywhere it was reported incorrectly as being pancreatic cancer. Not enough is known about this cancer, it's symptoms and how to treat it. NET Patient Foundation is raising money for clinical research, driving for standardised treatment and supporting and educating anyone affected by this particular type of cancer. I hope you will support me as I raise funds for them to continue their work.
