We are a group of dedicated ladies, who decided to celebrate the end of the lockdown with a team challenge; skipping for 12 hours non-stop to raise much-needed funds for this amazing charity. 

Many of us have seen loved ones, close friends and family members need the amazing end of life care that the Peace Hospice offers. Not only do they look after the patient, but their families too. For us, with my mum, we stayed there, were fed amazing food, led step by step through what mum was going through and I benefitted massively from the counselling service after my mum's passing.

We are not just skipping in memory of my mum, but for my dear friend Pauline Angold, super-spirited Sue Chambers, lovely Sammy James and Michele Petagine. So many of our friends and family have sadly had to use the care of the Peace Hospice. For me, it made the saddest time of my life more bearable, thanks to the care we all received.  

During the pandemic the need to care for people did not stop. Here are a few words directly from the the Peace Hospice team:-

'Due to the national lockdown and the COVID-19 pandemic, Peace Hospice Care endured a difficult period as all of their retail shops and fundraising activities were negatively impacted for a large proportion of the year. The doctors and nurses worked tirelessly throughout the pandemic to continue caring for our patients and their families when they needed them most.' from the Peace Hospice Care

Not only will 20 of us be doing a relay of skipping for 12 hours, but we will also be offering a cake stall, children's face painting, glitter hair plaiting, an array of tattoo applications and more. You can also make a donation to have a go at bowling, and you can even skip with us! 

We will be skipping from 7am - 7pm at Oxhey Bowls Club behind Watford Heath. Please pop in to say hi and take part in the activities on offer to raise as much funds as we can.  

Please help us to help the Peace Hospice, and let our 4 months of training be more than worthwhile!
