I will be running the Omagh half marathon on 29th March 2014 in memory of my son Jamie. I have chosen SANDS as my chosen charity because of everything they have done not just for me but for so many other families who have been left heartbroken by the loss of their baby. It costs just £20 for them to provide a family with a memory box, this box may not mean much to someone who hasnt been through a loss but to those who have it brings alot of comfort. They include two identical small teddies, one to go with your baby and the other to stay with you, a hand knitted blanket to wrap your baby in, hand and footprint kit, a little bag for your baby's hair or another little keepsake and information leaflets and booklets. They also have a helpline that you can ring with people who have been affected themselves so you can talk to someone who understands and can help you through along with support groups where you can talk to people face to face. They need donations to continue doing all this for families.
