Isle of Skye Half Marathon in Memory of Kirsten Imrie

Kirsten Imrie
05/11/1983 - 09/11/2021
When I first met Kirsten, back in 2012, she was working as a psychiatric nurse in CAMHS at Skye House in Glasgow, later progressing to the role of Care Manager. Kirsten was also a volunteer for The Samaritans.
Kirsten cared for and touched the lives of many people, both personally and professionally, and continues to be dearly loved and missed by so many of us. Although sadly no longer with us, she lives on in our hearts and minds.
I wanted to do something in loving memory of Kirsten and, with the blessing of her sister Gillian, I am running the Isle of Skye Half Marathon to raise funds for the Glasgow branch of the Samaritans, where Kirsten volunteered for many years. I hope that the money raised will make a difference and save lives.
The Samaritans exists to reduce the number of lives lost to suicide and to ensure that people who are distressed or in crisis can get the right help and support when they need it most. The Samaritans free helpline (116 123) is there for anyone who is struggling, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Please do reach out to them if you need them.
