My wife Louise was only 44 when she was unexpectedly taken ill on 18th October 2010. She had suffered a major heart attack. Louise was taken to St.George's Hospital Tooting, where she remained in their tender care until she passed away on 22nd October, leaving our two young daughters, Daisy and Emily, and myself to carry on without her as best we can.

Louise was a successful and much loved Criminal Barrister, who had been appointed Queen's Counsel in March of 2010. She was dedicated to representing the disadvantaged and most vulnerable members of our society, as well as those facing the most unedifying of allegations, but always did so with professionalism and humour. Louise was also a keen supporter of the BHF, as her late father had also benefitted from the amazing work undertaken by them. She would be very pleased that she was being remembered in this way, and I trust that you may also be able to keep her memory strong, at the same time assisting this worthwhile cause, by sponsoring me, and anyone else who chooses to do anything in Louise’s memory.

I am going to do my bit by attempting to run 10K for the first time in many years on 10th July, and I trust that you will be able to sponsor me, in whatever sum you feel able. I will update on my "training" in due course.

 UPDATE 11/7/11

I completed the London 10k in 57 mins. a time with which I am pretty pleased. I would also like to congratulate my colleagues from 9-12 Bell Yard, John McGuinness QC, Tracey Elliott, Alexandra Ward and her fiance "Comedy" Dave Robson, and Rachael Pearman, all of whom successfully got round the course. Some post race photographs can be seen on the page.

Additionally, Louise's Chambers, 9 Bedford Row, raised over £2,000 at a very well attended lunch to celebrate Louise's birthday on 3/7/11. Praise thanks and love to Michael Eves and Helen Davey for organising a wonderful event.

Thank you to everyone who has made such generous donations to a very worthwhile cause.
