Celebrating the life of Shirley

On March 17, our amazing, vibrant mum suddenly passed away and in a blaze of light and glory, she no doubt arrived at heaven’s gates and immediately began organising the angels.
Our mum was an utterly incredible force of nature, known for her immense kindness, love and generosity. She loved us kids, her grandbabies, dad and pretty much everyone she came into contact with. So many people from places as far away as the US and Australia have told us she was their ‘second mum’ too. She loved nothing more than to cook up a Sunday roast (the BEST gravy you’ve ever tasted) and then fall asleep in her armchair with ‘my family all around me’. She was passionate about her family, friends and her deep faith in Jesus and while we will miss her more than words can say, we know where she is and that she is more alive and free than she’s ever been.
One of mum’s other passions was Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital. Mum had atrial fibrillation, a pacemaker and had also had a heart attack a few years ago. For many years, she had wonderful care from Dr Mark Hall and his team and she was always asking people to donate to LHCH through Amazon Smile. She once raised over £500 from friends and family just through the sheer force of her determination and oh-so-persuasive nature. We know that instead of flowers, Mum would definitely want a fundraiser for this cause which was so dear to her.
We would love you to support this important cause as we can’t think of a better way to honour our incredible Mum.
