Hi, I'm Inese! If you ask any of my friends about me, one of the first things they'll tell you is how much I love climbing. Since discovering the vast hillwalking landscapes of Scotland, I have climbed 58 munros and even taken my hobby abroad to Kilimanjaro, to climb the world's highest free-standing mountain above sea-level.
Mountain Rescue crews are absolutely invaluable for ensuring the safety of everyone exploring the beautiful Scottish Highlands, and while I've been fortunate to complete all my climbs without much more than a few trips or slips here and there, I recognise the need for wonderful volunteer-led groups that are dedicated to helping in emergency situations. This is why I have decided to do the 2023 Kiltwalk challenge and raise money for Aberdeen Mountain Rescue, which is an exemplary group of fantastic volunteers that will be able to continue their life-saving work with the correct resources.
