Assalamu’alaikum

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “When a person dies, all his deeds come to an end except three. One of the three is Sadaqah Jariyah (ongoing charity), by the individual or given on their behalf.

I have therefore made the intention to set up a collection in remembrance of my humble and kind hearted colleague. I pray Allah swt rewards Dr Khan for this cause as Sadaqah Jariyah and elevates his status, May he be granted the highest ranks in Jannat ul Firdaws, Ameen.

As he was a paediatric radiologist, I thought it was a good idea to choose a charity for children which he would have liked. The status of orphans is emphasised in the Quran. ‘The Prophet (saw) said, “The one who cares for an orphan and myself will be together in Paradise like this,“ and he (saw) held his two fingers together to illustrate’. [Bukhari]

Dr Khan was always up for a conversation! If I saw him I would always anticipate talking for a long duration. He was a kind and sweet man, he touched the hearts of many. The most beautiful memory of mine with him was when he told me to read Ayatal Kursi three times. He stated, the first recitation one angel protects you, the second recitation another angel protects you, but if you read it three times then Allah swt himself will protect you. Subhan'Allah how beautiful were his conversations. It is sad that I will not get to have more powerful and meaningful conversations with him.

He will truly be missed by many!
