In memory of my beloved partner. Dearly missed and loved by so many.
Isaac Asare-Boakye was born with Sickle cell anaemia which is a hereditary blood disorder.
He was admitted to Whipps Cross hospital on Tuesday 16th June 2015 due to him having a fever, sickness and a viral infection. After four days of the doctors continuously trying to find the cause and trying different methods of treatment they decided on the evening of Saturday 20th June 2015 that he should be transferred to the Liver Intensive Care unit at Kings College Hospital, as they specialise in sickle cell and the liver. As his condition was not getting any better, and the viral infection had now attacked his liver as well as the blood vessels on his liver causing him to have repeat sickle cell crises. He was in KCH for 2weeks and 3days. Before he very sadly passed away on the morning of Tuesday 7th July 2015 at the young age of 25. The cause of his death was sickle cell hepatopathy and major organ failure. I know that all the doctors and nurses that looked after him went above and beyond to treat and save Isaac but unfortunately it was out of there control.
I would like the money that is raised to be split between the Liver intensive care unit and the haematology department at Kings College Hospital. So that more research can be done to treat and save more sickle cell patients lives.
All donations and gift aids will be much appreciated no matter how small. Every penny counts.
