Far too many of us have felt the pain of losing someone we love. With your donations, we power groundbreaking cardiovascular research to save and improve lives, bring hope to families, and keep hearts beating across the UK.

Story

On the 29th November 2013 my dad suddenly died during a heart operation, leaving all of our family in shock and our only option was to carry on in his memory. Currently the reason that my dad died cannot be discovered until it’s too late, because of this we never knew that my dad was suffering from it. I’m going to be running Bupa London for the BHF so fewer people lose their parents and relatives to an illness which treatment is currently unavailable for. Also, without the work and research of the British Heart Foundation I would not have had my dad for the 15 incredible years that I had, something that will never be able to be taken away from me. For these reasons this run is going to be in memory of my dad as it's the least I can do to make sure that there's not another 15 year old who has to lose their dad due to the same circumstances; and in hope that one day the condition will be able to be discovered before it's too late.

Until November I had never voluntarily decided to go on a run and at the time signing up to a 10k seemed rather daunting to me, but five months later I’ve officially caught the running bug and couldn’t be happier about running 10k around London!

I’d really appreciate it if you were able to make a donation however big or small to allow the BHF to continue with their amazing work and hopefully make the condition discoverable and find a cure for what affects fewer than 1 in 1,000,000 people each year.

Thank you so so much xxx
