Story
A group friends and I, the "Thunderburds”, are running the Edinburgh Half Marathon on the 26 May in aid of CLAN (Cancer Link Aberdeen and North). This charity, which provides a huge amount of support to individuals and families affected by cancer in North East Scotland, is one close to all our hearts.
Over the past couple of years I have seen too many of my wonderful friends lives affected by losing a mother to cancer. I want to run this half marathon in rememberance of each of these wonderful and exceptionally brave women, each of whom it was an absolute privilege to know; and also to honour the courage that my friends have shown.
This year will see CLAN having been in operation for 30 years, over which it has made an invaluable contribution to the local community through supporting those who have been affected by cancer. We wish to raise this money for CLAN in tribute to all the people who have battled the illness, and to help CLAN continue to offer comfort and support to those in need. For this reason we would be incredibly grateful your support, and hugely appreciate any donation you are able to make.
Thank you.
