Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
The Atacama is the driest desert in the world - and one of the oldest at 115 million years old. This is rugged, difficult terrain at high altitude, with scorching days and very cold nights.
Our trek is not about us - but about making a difference for children that desperately need our help and bringing some much needed awareness and attention to the Christina Noble Children’s Foundation. This is a self funded expedition.
Every penny raised will literally impact a child’s life and their future.
The Christina Noble Children’s Foundation (CNCF) is dedicated to serving vulnerable children in Vietnam and Mongolia who are in need of medical care, nutritional rehabilitation, educational opportunities, vocational training and job placement, who would otherwise be at high risk of sexual and commercial exploitation. Some of the Vietnamese children are still hugely impacted by the Agent Orange defoliant used in the Vietnam war. CNCF also empowers impoverished communities with sustainable futures through the building and equipping of education and medical facilities and the provision of micro-finance loans and water sanitation through our community development programmes. The Foundation seeks to maximize the potential of each child.
Issy's sister, Olivia, is the Marketing and Fundraising Director for CNCF, based in Ho Chi Minh.
