I am living with type 1 diabetes since I was 16 years old. I started with glass syringes that you had to boil to sterilize and the end of the day, and measuring blood glucose was done in a lab. Now, 38 years later I have an insulin pump and use a sensor to track my glucose levels. I know perfectly well what a difference research has made.
