Although this is a little late in the day, I felt that after months of training I wanted to add a little more meaning (and motivation) behind what will be a massive challenge. 

Basically I can't bear the thought of eating mushy peas and a 99 flake (not together) next to a sea that is filled with plastic bags and rubbish. The number of endangered wildlife, the rubbish and the volume of pollutants in our oceans doesn't, in my opinion, get enough attention. I absolutely love the ocean, especially swimming and so figured even some small step towards making a difference is better than nothing.
