Story
From the 12th to the 25th May I'll be doing a solo 200 mile walk across Scotland as part of the The Great Outdoor Challenge. I've plotted my own route (hopefully with not too much bog!) and apart from the odd night of drying out in a hostel will be wild camping all of the way.
I'll be signing out from Mallaig though officially starting in Inverie just along the coast. My route will take me across the tops of the Knoydart mountains of Sgurr na Ciche through to Sgurr Mor. Then on through Glen Kingie to the River Garry. Over the Corrieyairack pass to Newtonmore then straight through the heart of the magnificent Caingorms via The Angels Peak, Cairn Toul and The Devils Point. From Braemar I'll head for Morven and the Correen Hills before taking the Gordon Way to Bennachie and then the back roads to the beach at Newburgh.
I'll be doing it all unsupported and carrying all my gear. I expect to be quite skinny by the end of it :) Just think how much more cheese I'll be able to eat!
As a nice touch I should be finishing on my Dad's birthday by the sea where we once scattered his ashes. I'd like to think he'd be proud :)
