I will be taking part in the CRN Fight Night event to raise money for my chosen charity Footsteps. The reason I have chosen this charity is because of the below.

My niece Cerys was born three months premature as a result of severe pre-eclampsia. Initially she done very well but at 8 weeks old contracted NEC which resulted in Cerys falling critically unwell, suffering brain damage and having two thirds of her bowel removed. Cerys remained in hospital until she was 9 months old and as a result of NEC was diagnosed with spastic quadraplegia (cerebral palsy) resulting in significant developmental delays, epilepsy and a sever motor outcome.  Despite all of this, Cerys has proven herself to be a very tough, determined, resilient, and loving little girl. Just take a look at the pictures to see her amazing progression! Cerys attends an intensive course once a year at Footsteps and each time she attends, she makes significant progress. For those of you who know Cerys, you will know that she grabs every opportunity she is given and is determined to overcome all her challenges. Any money donated will go towards young children who have similar conditions to Cerys and will help support them toward a more active and mobile lifestyle.
