Royal Parks Half Marathon 2019 · 13 October 2019 ·

This has quickly become one of CPT's biggest challenge events of the year, and we want you to join us! Over 16,000 runners take part in the event to conquer its spectacular 13.1 mile route through central London and four of its beautiful Royal Parks.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page!

As many of you might know, my brilliant old man Bruce has lived with/had to endure Parkinson’s (PD) for even longer than he has had to endure me (25+ years).

Despite the old PD taking a slightly more brutal toll in recent months, the inspirational, stubborn nutter he is, has yet to utter a single complaint and this decade completed the London Marathon not once but twice (above 2012), rendering us all rather feeble by comparison.

If this wasn’t motivation enough, looking after The Cure Parkinson’s Trust’s challenge events this year, it seems only right to suffer alongside our amazing supporters on a few races through October and fundraise for the charity I clearly believe has the power to change this shoddy condition for future generations – if 1 in 37 of us are predicted to get it, you should probably donate lots please and thank you.

Challenge 1 - London Marathon Walk ft lovely mamma and our fab deputy CEO Helen.

Challenge 2 - The Royal Parks Half Marathon ft CPT's very own Ella, Will (CEO) and 30+ supporters.

Challenge 3 -  Ricky Road Run - anyone most welcome to muck in!.

The only other half marathon I attempted 8 years ago, resulted in some stunningly splinted shins… so as I pull myself out of boxing ring and onto London’s tarmac to attempt to train over the next few weeks, please pull your wallets out and donate a coffee or two’s worth (with GiftAid!) for CPT and the toughest of dads.

Thank you so much!
