The Marathon des Sables is ranked by the Discovery Channel
as the toughest footrace on earth. The MdS is a multi-day ‘ultra-marathon’ or‘ultra’ run across the Sahara Desert in six days over a course of between 150 and 156 (254km) miles. Keep up to date with all my progress here http://jamesking261087.wix.com/underthesun 

With just over 1,000 runners taking part, my goal will be to finish within the top 250 (overall) and in the top 50 on the final race day.
It's a massive challenge that will push me to my very limits, both physically and mentally, requiring complete commitment over a 14 month training period.

As well as the relentless training schedule, my toughest challenge over the next 14 months, and the one in which I will need the most support in in order to achieve is to raise over £10,000 for a truly amazing charity. So please dig deep and give as much as you can, and in turn I will push as hard as I can to compete!
