Purpose:

  1. The main purpose is to raise money for Worcestershire Oncology Centre. In order to do this I’ve had to set this ‘Just Giving’ page up under ‘Fundraising for Worcestershire Acute Hospitals Charity’ who are fully supportive & I will have a say in where the money is spent & who it will benefit. Though Worcestershire Oncology Centre is based at Worcester Royal Hospital, it benefits many people throughout the whole county.
  2. The 2nd purpose is to give myself inspiration to get through my own treatment & have a focus. So for example the walking activity will directly benefit me as I have been advised that fresh air & exercise will help me.

So, I am asking for donations for Jen (& Friends) 250 mile walk for Worcestershire Oncology Centre.

So to be clear, I intend to walk 250 miles, which I’ve  already started to do. The two reasons it says ‘Jen (& Friends)’ are that on some of the walks, friends, family & dogs 🐶 have & will continue to join me. Secondly, if for some reason I cannot finish the walk myself,  as I’m close to starting some treatment, then friends & family have offered to step in to complete the miles for me.

Now, anyone who knows me, knows that I am determined to do the miles myself but the treatment can be unpredictable. I will keep you updated on here & via my Facebook page too.

So, if you prefer to wait until the miles are completed &  by me alone,  then I advise you hold onto your donation for now.

However, if you are happy to go ahead & donate anyway, then I can promise you that I will make sure your donation is used very wisely. So, either way it will most certainly be going towards an extremely good & worthy cause.

Jen Roberts - I’ve  been diagnosed with my 3rd cancer. This time it’s lung cancer which is most likely because of previous intense treatments such as chemotherapy & radiotherapy for my 1st cancer Hodgkins Lymphoma.

I will be undertaking a series of walks. Some may be very short & some longer, depending how my treatment is affecting me. Some days I may have to stay indoors or in the garden. Other days I hope to get outside into the fresh air.

So, to keep me inspired to keep walking & raise money in the process I’m asking for a donations. Either of a one off donation or to sponsor me per mile I achieve to walk  💰🚶‍♂️

Let’s be honest, it could take me weeks or months but I’m hoping to walk 250 miles, which I will keep a record of by an app.

To give you an idea, if you pledge to sponsor me per mile: 10p per mile = max. £25, 20p per mile = max. £50  and 40p per mile = max. £100 & so on.

However, I will be grateful of anything you can donate 🙏

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE, JEN  🙏💰❤️
