Story

Hello everyone,

Thanks for visiting my page. In September 2015 I will be cycling from London to Paris (just under 500km) across the space of 4 days. As anybody who knows me will testify, I can be very lazy and particularly dislike individual sports as I have no one to talk to!

My brother Robbie was tragically killed on his way to work in June 2014 which is the reason I am completing this challenge. Robbie would move mountains in order to help me; hopefully this comparitavely short ride will be able to provide help to others. In March I will be undergoing ankle ligament reconstruction surgery which provides me with only a short time to prepare, but just one of the things Robbie showed me was to never complain or let anything stop you.

I will be raising money for two charities; this page is set up for Cruse Bereavement Care (http://www.cruse.org.uk/). This organisation has provided incredible support for myself and my family following the sudden and tragic loss of my brother. Run solely by volunteers, they provide vital face to face support to road victims' families and friends and, this year, are facing huge losses.

The other charity I am raising money for is Barrett's Oesophagus Campaign and the link to that page can be found here: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/J-Schofield

Please give generously to these two wonderful causes, all in the name of a truly inspirational son, brother, grandson, friend, teacher etc.!
