I am taking part in the 2018 Swimathon to raise money for Cancer Research and supporting charities, something very close to mine and my families hearts.
My swim is in memory of my wonderful father in law Terry, the strongest and bravest man I know. After previously already battling the illness once he was given a terminal diagnosis over 2 and a half years ago but would not give up. He lost his long fight against cancer on 8th April 2018 and is now at peace and out of pain. He knew I was taking part and am glad he got to see the page.
My goal is 3.5km (140 lengths) in under one and a half hours. I will be doing this on Saturday 5th May at Nuffield Health Club in Rubery.
Cancer has effected so my of my friends and family this past year and this is my way of trying to give something back and help those now and in the future to find new ways of helping people survive this awful illness.
Wish me luck everyone! ! thank you for the kind support 😊😊👍👍👍 xxx lots of love
