Story

On 29th November 2013 my daughter, Steffi, was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia ("ALL") - cancer of the blood or bone marrow.  She was 23 months old and our lives were turned upside down overnight.  Since then, life has changed enormously and she has been (and is currently going) through so much. Her treatment is intense, long and life-changing.

Steffi is being treated by the wonderful doctors and nurses at the Royal Marsden.  The care they have provided has been nothing less than fantastic.

Whatever pain I have to overcome to complete 7 marathons in 7 days will be nothing compared to what my beautiful 3 year old daughter has bravely faced every day since her diagnosis. She is the reason I am raising money for The Royal Marsden.

Over the last 50 years, the cure rates for ALL have improved enormously.  This is due to the  amazing reserarch and education carried out by cancer centres such as The Royal Marsden.  Steffi is still undergoing treatment and will, hopefully, be one of those who are cured.  Not everyone with cancer is facing favourable odds. This is why I feel that it is so important that The Royal Marsden is able to continue to provide its amazing care and undertake world leading research to help the lives and improve the odds of other patients facing cancer.
