Story

Thank you for taking time to visit my Just Giving page.

I will be taking part in the London to Brighton cycle ride in memory of my best friend Kevin who on the 8th November sadly passed away having lost his battle to cancer.

Kevin and I loved to go cycling together, passionately sharing and spending hours together on our bikes during the holidays.  London to Brighton was one of the activities we planned to do as soon as Kevin was strong enough to leave hospital and also when I had fully recovered from my Achilles rupture. This will be my first bike ride since my injury and although I am making good progress with my recovery and ready to complete the ride in September - sadly it will be without my best friend Kevin.

Although we hadn’t chosen a charity to raise money for, I know Kevin would of wanted to support young people as he did throughout his teaching profession.  So in memory of Kevin, I have chosen to raise money for “Cyclist Fighting Cancer”, a charity who are passionate about helping children and young people with cancer to regain their physical fitness and mental wellness by giving them new bikes, adapted trikes and specialist support during treatment and into recovery.

Since the charity began in 2005 they have awarded over 8,500 bikes and trikes and the money you donate will help contribute to this amazing charity and bring the joy and freedom of cycling to so many children they support.

Kevin would be so proud knowing the money we raise will go towards helping young people by equipping them with bikes, which brought the both of us so much fun, laughter and joy.
