Josie's Dragonfly Trust - Josie's Dragonfly Trek March · 10 March 2012 ·
This page was set up for a competition to take part in our March 2012 Dragonfly Trek to Northern Thailand. The competition has now closed and we can confirm that the winner is Lisa Pape.
We will be keeping the page open a bit longer and welcome your donations however small, in support of this trek which will be making a huge difference to children & young people living with Cancer, both in Thailand and of course through our work in the UK
If you would like to join one of our future treks please get in touch trek@josiesdragonfly.org
For more information about the Trek please visit the trek page on our website www.josiesdragonfly.org
The main purpose of the trip is a 2 day event to brighten the lives of 10 thai children with terminal cancer, a real treat for these brave children who live very meagre lifestyles. This is in collaboration with the Thai Wishing Well Foundation. We will be putting on a big party for the children and their families as well as taking them on a zoo trip to help create treasured memories.
In conjuction with the Rain Tree Foundation money paid for our accomodation also helps support an orphanage of 30 children and whilst getting to know each other prior to the children's party the participants will be doing some treking which will include taking freestanding water filters to a remote hilltribe.
Money raised through the Treks will also pay for Cash Gifts to support children & young People in the UK where cancer treatment is no longer considered curative
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
