Story

Hello there. The fact you are looking at this page means hopefully you have been directed here by one of the 2 (super fit athletes) who are hoping you will sponsor us to complete the National 3 peaks challenge. For those of you who are unaware of this dramatic and challenging feat that is not for the faint hearted let us explain. The Three Peaks Challenge involves climbing the three highest peaks, respectively, in England, Wales and Scotland, within 24 hours. The Peaks are: •Snowdon, in Wales (1085m), •Scafell Pike, in England (978m) •Ben Nevis, in Scotland (1344m) Following discussions in the office regarding charities and after a fair bit of banter, two of us decided that we should finally step up to the plate and do something rather than talk about it for charity. So Jason & Iain who are both super fit athletes at the peak of physical prowess???????????? (see picture) decided we would need to be challenged. The pie eating challenge was not really the answer, so the National 3 peaks challenge on the 28th May 2011 it will be. Most people at some point have lost someone to cancer or know of someone (usually very close to us) that is fighting it. Jason in particular lost his mom a few years ago when she passed away in Willen Hospice and Iain’s father in law is currently winning his battle against cancer. Therefore we decided that we would raise money for two charities that cover this disease. Macmillan Cancer Support and Willen Hospice (based in Milton Keynes) Please follow the link if you wish to donate to Willen Hospice http://www.justgiving.com/JISD-Willen  Those of you who know anyone of us will know this is not going to be easy. This is not a gentle walk, and when three climbs are required within 24 hours the Challenge becomes more difficult, drains your energy and deprives you of sleep, we are not the fittest two lads, contrary to belief I know. We will post pictures of the challenge at a later stage but hope you will please give generously and wish us luck,
We would like to give Martin Hayes a mention as he has kindly offered to drive us between the peaks and based on the fact he can cook and apply first aid he was a perfect choice as our support member. So Martin thanks and don’t forget you’re St Bernard and please brush up on your mountain rescue.
In addition a big thank you to our employer, Kuehne-Nagel who's support will assist us completing the challenge
