It seems I can't stop taking on new running challenges. My running journey began in 2020 when the challenge was to do one 5k park run a month, last year I did my first half marathon and 2022 is hopefully the year of my first London marathon. 

Although there are so many amazing charities I could have chosen for my marathon, the Royal National Institute for Deaf People seemed like a natural fit. Helping people who are deaf or suffer from hearing loss is a cause that is very personal to our family. 

Perhaps a less well known charity, the RNID supports the 12 million people in the UK who are deaf, have hearing loss or tinnitus and have been helping people with hearing loss for more than 100 years. Key achievements include successfully lobbying the NHS to provide free hearing aids in 1948 and they continue to be involved in life-changing research today.
