John's TVH 2.6 Challenge

John Husbands is raising money for Thames Valley Harriers

John Husbands TVH & Care Workers’ Charity 2.6 Challenge · 25 May 2020

Campaign by Thames Valley Harriers (RCN HMRC Registered)
To raise funds for both our Community Amateur Sports Club and the Care Workers' Charity through the 2.6 Challenge. All funds raised to be shared equally between TVH and the Care Workers' Charity.

Story

Thames Valley Harriers is a Community Amateur Sports Club run by volunteers, based at the Linford Christie Stadium in West London, providing athletics coaching and competitions to all from local children to international athletes.

We rely heavily on donations and fund raising to achieve this. We have had to postpone fund raising athletics events that we had planned for 2020. The cost of us providing a safe environment for athletics training and competitions will increase when we are able to return to regular club activities.

I have been a member of TVH for more than 30 years; as an athlete, team manager, Chairman, coach, official, event organiser, cleaner and now the club's General Manager. You name it I've done it!   I had stopped running for a few years,  but started jogging again recently  and have built up my fitness with evening runs during lockdown.

All money raised through the TVH 2.6 Challenge (donations and gift aid) will be split equally between TVH and the Care Workers’ Charity (CWC). Many care workers are low paid agency workers, the CWC emergency appeal will provide grants to care workers when self- isolating.

My Challenge is to run 26 x 5km runs over 2 weeks in early June and I will upload my progress daily.  Please give generously, all donations very gratefully received. Many thanks for your support.
