On the 8th October I will be taking part in the Yorkshire marathon in York. This will be my first marathon - why did I enter for this, the Leeds half marathon was hard enough!!

I have decided to raise money and awareness for The Leeds Rhinos Foundation (http://www.leedsrhinosfoundation.org).

Earlier this year I joined the Try Club programme that is run by the foundation, to help promote health and wellbeing for Men. This is a 12 week programme which includes advice, support and guidance with regards to Healthier eating\lifestyle and physical activity, which includes circuit training and team based activities such as tag rugby.

This programme has really improved my overall health and fitness which has helped with my training for the Marathon.

This programme is just one of many activities that the foundation undertakes in the community which uses sport as its main vehicle to help all people in the community (not just the Rugby League supporters).

Leeds Rhinos Foundation is Leeds Rhinos charity that delivers projects in the heart of the community. We harness the power of sport to make a lasting, positive impact on individuals' lives. As Leeds Rugby's charity, we have an amazing opportunity to truly change lives through sport. The Foundation delivers a range of project under three themes of Sport, Health and Education. Sport is a fantastic tool that allows the Foundation to work with a whole range of individuals, imparting important lifestyle messages to help them to make positive changes to their own lives.
